Java VGA-Planets Client (JVC)

The JVC is a 3rd party-made client in the making. It is written totally in the Java language, and designed to run on any platform. All that is needed to run this client is a Java Runtime Environment (JRE), which is available for all kinds of platforms. The JVC is not an application to load into your browser, as some might think.Although not yet completed, the JVC certainly looks promising. It will combine all of the features in DOS Planets, Winplan and VPA and even that of the Shipsoul utility. It will allow you to play with multiple RSTs loaded which will help a great deal in games where you get to command two races, or in teamgames where information about your allies’ ships and planets is of vital importance.This client will allow more 3rd party add-ins, which can perform any range of functions like those in the Randmax utility. Instead of calling those functions from separate programs in a batchfile, they will now be executed from the client program itself.So although this program is still in development and not yet complete, I suggest you keep an eye out for it.
