BackStab Beta Bulletin Board

BackStab Beta Bulletin Board

BackStab is a .RST file editor. It can edit a .RST file and change the heading and location of your ships.

It's purpose is to backstab your ally - that trusty ally you've been sharing .RST files with.
By altering the locations and headings of some (or all) your ships and thus keeping them 'secret', you will be able to setup a surprise attack against your ally in secrecy.

He will simply not see your ships coming until those ships are visible in his own .RST file.

BackStab makes it easier for you to start exchanging .RST files with other players. If you're not completely certain whether you want this particular player as ally or maybe another player, BackStab makes it possible to pull back from an alliance and switch sides - in a most devastating way!

BackStab is sixth in a series VGAP utils called Timo's Tools.

BackStab in simple words

You order the BackStab executable 'BackStab.exe' to move your ships to the fake locations of your wishes. You tell BackStab which ships you want to be moved by entering the ship ID numbers and the new ship waypoints in a plain text file called 'BackStab.lst'. You can have some control in which way BackStab operates by changing settings in the configuration file 'BackStab.cfg'.

All this makes BackStab an util you DON'T want to share with your fellow players....

As BackStab is too devious and dangerous to distribute freely and without restriction, it will probably be released as shareware. This is your chance to try it: Backstab is now in public beta release. You can download and test a preliminary version. To prevent too much trouble, the public beta release is fully functional only till turn 25 of any game.

You can download the public beta version right at the Backstab Beta BlackBoard.
