Replacement BMPs
BMP Lists
No WinPlan Shit Batch file
Rename the BMPs and put them in the BMP directory of WinPlan. (Keep a copy of
the old ones just in case you get tired of the new ones.). Use these lists to get the correct vplXXX.bmp number.
I've put the BMP's listed below as GIF's on picture sheets. Take a look at: page 1 and page
2.
I've got also a page on this site for the replacement BMP's other players have
sent to me. They are at: page 3 and page 4.
There are more replacement BMP's on the WWW sites of:
Three list with all the
BMPs of WinPlan. You can use these lists when you're creating your own
replacement BMP's - you don't have to go through all the BMP's, just take a
look at the list.
Another use of this list would be to use it for deleting the WinPlan delaying
and hard disk consuming BMPs of WinPlan you didn't use anyway.... (Should save
you at least 1.5 to 3 Meg!) Get the NOSHIT.BAT batch
file to delete those unused WinPlan BMPs!
Or use them to replace some of the most irritating picts. Please send me a copy if you've got a nice
one!
The Lists:
- For the regular player: ships and some misc. info. bmplist.txt (v2.2) - about 10 kB.

bmpsortlist.txt (v2.4) - about 11 kB.

- For the Die Hards: everything but ships:
bmpmisclist.txt. (v1.5) - about 18 kB.
- A list to link planetary IDs to their BMPs:
bmpplanidlist.txt (v1.0).
- A list to link planet BMPs to planetary IDs:
bmpplansortlist.txt.(v1.0)
Tip: Restoring Winplan BMPs
If you want to restore the original BMPs that come with your installation
disks - I really don't know why you want this but let's say just in this
hypothetical case :-) - you don't have to re-install WinPlan. You only have to
install VPBMP1.EXE, VPBMP5.EXE and/or VPBMP6.EXE. Use my BMP lists and check the BMP numbers with the column on
the right. Copy the VPBMPx.XX_ files you need from your installation disks and
rename them to VPBMPx.EXE. Executing them will extract all BMPs from that
file. This should save you at least one hour of frustration...
Hidden Pages
This site has hidden pages - pages you can't access by links. When you're an
addicted WinPlan BMP collector, I invite you to drop me a line. I'll then give you the URL
of my hidden BMP pages where you can find information on how I modify the
BMPs. (It's not that straightforward as you might think...) You can find there
a lot of ideas, hints, questions, formats and at least another 20 sample
BMPs.
No WinPlan Shit Batch file
Tired of everything that won't ever be used by WinPlan I wrote this batch file. It will delete every unused BMP for
you except for the planet BMPs - you might want to use them to replace ugly planet BMPs. Just put the
NOSHIT.BAT batch file in the BMP directory of Winplan and run it. When you
want to re-install the deleted BMPs you'd better read my tip about restoring Winplan BMPs. (I really don't know why you want
that as they are ...well I said it already: so extremely unused!) There is a
list with all unused BMPs (bmpmisclist.txt) if you
want more info.
The updated version of 13/12/96 won't no longer delete
vpl30.bmp as this pict (the duplicate Nebula) is used in the battle simulator
of Winplan v3.5.
